All Groups Move to the New GSMP Process 31 August 2011
All Groups working under the former standards development processes will transition to the new GSMP Process on 31 August 2011. This move will align all standards development groups under one single process thereby bringing clarity to all members. All standards going forward will be developed under the GS1 IP Policy thereby delivering royalty-free standards to the GS1 community to the best of our ability.
To avoid disruption of work and disruption of your participation in groups, GS1 Member Companies must:
-
Sign the GS1 IP Policy
-
Complete the appropriate Working Group Opt-in Agreement
-
Join the appropriate GSMP Community Room
Groups not meeting membership minimums by August 31 will stop work efforts until such time as Work Group Membership Minimums (as defined in Working Group Charter) are met. Watch for more announcements coming soon inviting you to sign Opt-In Agreements for the transitioning groups. What groups are available to join now? For a list of groups currently in the new GSMP, visit the Working Groups web page. How can you join a group in the new GSMP? A web page is available to step you through the process of signing the GS1 IP Policy and Opt-In Agreements and joining community rooms, click here.
